That being said, the tech in me figured out a way to hold the reed in place enough to play with it today(Rubber bands).. and though I have never played on before I think it came out pretty decent all things considered.. I found it quite pleasant in tone, and feels very nice in my hands... The strings are very new, and have to be tuned quite often.. I figure they will settle down some after a while.. Nylon are always that way.. The first 5 minutes of this track are nothing but the 6 string Lanikai Tenor Uke.. And my pitiful attempt at playing it... The next 5 minutes are with the Epiphone MandobirdIV.. This is one beast of a Mando.. Although I am more in my zone with a mando, I found the lack of the double courses a bit challenging.. I must say that for certain applications though, having only 4 strings on a mando can have it's advantages.. And plugged into some distortion it has some incredible crunch.. This thing can rock and roll like no mando I've ever played... It is incredible... The pickup is warm an inviting clean, and stone cold rock and roll dirty.. As you can hear... The neck is very smooth and nice.. I like the shape and the size of it.. it makes it very easy to play.. action came set up well, and the intonation was spot on.. The strings are actually pretty nice too, usually the first thing to go is the stock strings, but I kind of liked these... Anyway, I hope you like this review JBP..
